Sean Griffith joins SG Collaborative Solutions as an intern in 2015. Sean is a student enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Westlake Academy, in Westlake, Texas. She is scheduled to graduate in May 2016, and looks forward to continuing her education in areas that overlap with our socio-technical, collaborative improvement models. Since joining the company, Sean has assisted in a number of classroom training sessions taught by our Principal Collaborators in multiple industries, and often participates in the classroom discussions.
During her tenure at Westlake Academy, Sean has conducted two behavioral science experiments utilizing principles learned from SG Collaborative Solutions. The first experiment demonstrated the prevalence of outcome bias measured through four survey scenarios, with each scenario being offered in two versions to randomized survey respondent groups. Version A of each scenario involved teenage behaviors yielding a positive outcome, while version B of each scenario involved identical behaviors that resulted in adverse, harm-related events. She measured the respondent’s assessment of each behavior on a five-point Likert scale, and quantified the results. Similarly, in her freshman year Sean conducted a second psychometric experiment utilizing the same method to measure fundamental attribution bias. This experiment won first place in both the Westlake Academy Science Fair and in regional University Interscholastic League (UIL) competition.
Sean has recently been selected to participate in a Shoulder-to-Shoulder educational and community-based voluntary service trip, partnering with the Rio Beni Health Foundation to install water filters for communities in the Bolivian Amazon.
